Fais Do-Do

Even though Los Angeles is plagued by venues with faux façades that host pretentious and snobby people and acts as fake as their frontage, there are other venues that don’t need to recur to flashy and ostentatious antics to grab an audience and sell out performances. One of those venues is “Fais Do-Do”. This venue opened around 1930 as a café but was transformed into a music venue in the 60’s and since then “Fais Do-Do” has managed to book very eclectic acts, ranging from funk, jazz, world, rock, indie and even Latin alternative. The gigs at this venue tend to be quite intimate and have an up-close, personal and cozy vibe to them thanks to the fact that they preserved the café feel the venue had since it first opened its doors. While “Fais Do-Do” is French for “nighty night” or “buenas noches”, you’ll do anything but sleep when you go to “Fais Do-Do”, you will however have a good night indeed.
