Almost Famous: Lady Gaga

With Gwen Stefani popping babies, Madonna trying to scantily re-invent herself (for the millionth time) as a modern day Top40 dominatrix, and Britney working on her fitness and a much hyped comeback, the “Pop Diva” slot is available. The radio, the clubs, and the gays need someone to look up to and something to dance to.
Graced by superb timing, sick beats, catchy hooks, playful lyrics, a killer body, a pretty face and outstanding stage presence, Lady GaGa is slowly but steadily making her way up the top of the pop charts.
Her first single “Just Dance” featuring Colby O’Donis has been a major success, proving yet once again that a well-crafted pop song can still capture audiences world wide.
On her debut album, aptly titled “The Fame”, Stefani Gabriella Germanotta (Lady GaGa) keeps things simple, fun, fierce and sexy… no raw, sticky and sweet b.s. here… and although the album does include some soft jams, they don’t come off as cheesy.
After a few listens you might get tired of certain songs- it’s not that they’re bad, they just remind you of “ok” songs by other artists, and in other songs Lady GaGa channels her inner Gwen Stefani a bit too much.
Overall, “The Fame” is a great pop album- definitely a no-brainer among music aficionados; however she still has a long way to go to enter the “Pop” royal family, nevertheless, Lady GaGa makes one hell of a debut.
Outstanding Traxx: Just Dance, Poker Face, Love Games, Brown Eyes, Paparazzi.
