Nelly Furtado- “Mi Plan”
Friday, 11 September 2009 18:31
As soon as Nelly Furtado announced she had a full-length Spanish album in the works, todos se quedaron con la boca abierta y con la cara de “what?!”, without much to do but wait until the album saw the light. Now that “Mi Plan” has hit the shelves, Nelly Furtado fans and music aficionados will be surprised by her latest project. She didn’t really follow the same pattern she used on “Loose”, her most successful album to date, yet she didn’t go back to her folk pop roots either… instead, we get old school Nelly and Timbaland Nelly all rolled into one for a star studded poptastic album. Look out for some amazing and unexpected collaborations with artists like Alex Cuba, Alejandro Fernández, Julieta Venegas, La Mala Rodríguez, Concha Buika, Josh Groban, and Juan Luis Guerra. Definitivamente te llevarás una grata sorpresa con “Mi Plan”… even if at times you feel like you can’t stomach pop.
Surprisingly enough, “Mi Plan” doesn’t seem to have any filler tracks, and you’ll find yourself staying away from the “skip” button. Unfortunately, Nelly Furtado didn’t enlist the help of long time Spanish collaborator Juanes… and while he is deeply missed, the other featured artists come in as a breath of fresh air.
“Mi Plan” cuenta con la producción de James Bryan, Lester Mendez, Brian West, The Demolition Crew and from Nelly Furtado herself.
While many think releasing a full length Spanish album as a follow up to “Loose” is a major buzz kill… if you think outside the box, it perfectly makes sense. Sin duda alguna, “Mi Plan” es un éxito más para Ms. Furtado.
Mi Plan Outstanding Traxx: Bajo Otra Luz, Fuerte, Más, Suficiente Tiempo, Silencio, Mi Plan, Manos Al Aire.
