Mondo Gronk: Photographs
Tuesday, 06 October 2009 11:00
L.A.’s drkrm. gallery is proud to present this exclusive exhibit featuring never before seen photographs by Gronk, an internationally celebrated painter, printmaker, muralist, and performance artist. Lo chido de esta exhibición es que todas las fotografías están en blanco y negro and they were all taken during the 70’s and the 80’s. They represent a rarely seen side of Chicano culture and their lack of access to Hollywood por aquellos tiempos, ethnic identity, pop culture, amor, an East L.A. avant-garde art collective, and stills from a film put together in order to tell a story. Realmente encontrarás fotografías de todo tipo, there are even some with homoerotic content. This East L.A. native artist is known for not giving a rat’s ass about el que dirán and for not being afraid of raising the bar.
After having his photographs showcased in some of the biggest galleries and museums, this is a great chance to get a closer and more intimate look into the art of Gronk.
