Composed by Eduardo Limón on vocals, Argentinean Mariana Mirelman on bass, Olmo Guerra on drums and Mauricio Garcia on guitar, the quartet has embarked on a mission to spread their music across all borders. With influences from Sonic Youth, My Morning Jacket and Arctic Monkeys (to name a few), Le Baron sets out to produce anything but the traditional or the expected. Although their music has been compared to the musical arrangements heard from Soda Stereo and although it has also been mentioned that Lalo’s vocals are reminiscent of Saul Hernandez in his youth, the band has also been noted for their original sound and eclectic arrangements.

In 2004, Eduardo, Mariana and a group of sound engineers and independent producers founded Del Vista studio. Del Vista studio was created in response to the need for a space where local musicians could produce music. It was there that the quartet met and after working with other musicians, the pieces finally fell into place when they played their first set together. It was the instant chemistry between all of the members that motivated them to pursue their musical aspirations.

In 2006, the band met and recorded their first EP with producer Yamil Rezc. The band members stood in line alongside other musical hopefuls outside of Reactor FM studios where every Monday morning programming directors received demos in search of new musical talent. The demo consisted of five tracks: Inmóvil, Exilio, El Vertigo del Desprendimiento, Soldado John and Segunda Vuelta. Within months, their song “Inmóvil” was hand selected by a radio station programmer and was played for the first time on radio airwaves one early morning. The radio broadcast brought much attention to the band and it was only a matter of time before they played more shows and in different cities. The audience reaction was such that “Inmóvil” soon became a regular play on Reactor FM and was voted #1 single of the year by the radio station.

In late 2007, the band released their second single “Exilio”, which received as much positive buzz as “Inmóvil”. The band has appeared on Mexico’s television station “In-d” and has performed at the Hard Rock Café, the Indie Bud tour and the Corona Music Fest where they shared the stage with bands such as Aterciopelados, Pastilla and Los Amigos Invisibles. Playing alongside bands of that caliber reinforced the notion that continuing with the project was best for the group and served as motivation to continue their musical journey.

On February 1, 2007, Al Borde magazine served as the first publication to profile the band in their first international interview. The exposure of the band to the Latin alternative scene in Los Angeles helped open doors for their first possible international performance. The band has since filmed their first music video for “Inmóvil” under the direction of Stacy Perskie who has also worked with Zoé and Sub-division. The video is scheduled for release in late February and alborde.com will be among the first to provide the video to its audience.
